Demi Lovato is preparing to offer fans a closer look at her life in her forthcoming documentary Simply Complicated. In the style of Lady Gaga’s Five Foot Two, the “Sorry Not Sorry” siren has opened up to a camera about her life and her creative process. The visual is set to air on YouTube, and today (September 26) it received an official release date.

“#SimplyComplicated has been a long time in the making & is so special to me. Can’t wait to share it on Oct. 17,” the 25-year-old tweeted. The project will follow the artist as she hit the recording studio to create her forthcoming LP Tell Me You Love Me and promises to share “never before told stories and personal footage that reveal a raw and intimate look into her life.” She is said to address everything from her experiences with fame to her battle with an eating disorder and previous relationships.

“My fans have been on this journey with me since I was eight years old and have shared in some of the most important moments of my life. As I embark on a new journey both personally and professionally, it was important to me to create this documentary with a platform that would allow me to continue to bring my story directly to my fans,” Demi has said of the impending release.

Things are heating up for the “Confident” diva as she prepares to unleash her latest album this Friday (September 29). This week is one of the hottest of the year with massive unveilings from the likes of Miley Cyrus, Shania Twain and Dolly Parton, but Demi is heading into it with a strong campaign including her fiery lead single and a slew of soaring bonus tracks including the steamy “Sexy Dirty Love.” Check out Demi’s official announcement below!
