Gwen Stefani Spreads Festive Cheer With A Cute Version Of “Santa Baby”
There’s nothing like a little festive cheer… in September. Gwen Stefani rolls out the second cut from her seasonal opus, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, and it’s a relatively faithful interpretation of “Santa Baby.” Originally made famous by Eartha Kitt, the slinky ditty is the go-to Yuletide choice for flawless pop divas. (Kylie Minogue’s version is a staple on the UK charts every December, while Ariana Grande covered it on her Christmas Kisses EP in 2013). Why? Because it’s about as sexy as a Xmas fare gets!
Gwen’s take on “Santa Baby” follows “You Make It Feel Like Christmas,” an original duet with boyfriend Blake Shelton. It has a pleasant country twang about it and sounds like it could be a seasonal hit. As much as I love the classics, I’m more excited to hear the No Doubt diva’s original songs. If anyone can put a fresh twist on the tired, old Christmas album, it’s Gwen. Listen to her version of “Santa Baby” below.
