Miley's 'Younger Now:' Album Review
Miley Cyrus attempts a country-pop reinvention on her sixth LP with mixed results.

The sales forecast is grim but Miley Cyrus is still in full promo mode for Younger Now. She dropped by Howard Stern’s radio show to talk about the album, noting that she stopped smoking weed while recording it. “This record means so much to me and I want to be able to tell people what I feel about the record in a non-stoned way,” the pop star reasoned. Unfortunately, she’s unlikely to take the album on the road due to her pets. “Literally the only reason I’m not touring is because of those fucking pigs,” Miley revealed. “That’s how much I love those pigs.”

The highlight of the interview, however, was her tribute to the late Tom Petty. The 25-year-old belted out the late singer’s “Wildflowers,” the title track of his 1994 solo album. Miley put a country slant on the breezy, folk ditty and delivered one of her best vocals. She was clearly moved by the experience, breaking into tears at the end of the song. This is proof of what she’s capable of when provided with quality source material. Listen below.
