Maroon 5 Announces 'Red Pill Blues'
Maroon 5 reveals the cover and tracklist of their sixth album, 'Red Pill Blues.'

It’s been a big week for Maroon 5. The veteran pop/rockers announced their sixth LP, Red Pill Blues (pre-order now), and dropped a new buzz track. A collaboration with Julia Michaels, “Help Me Out” finds the band in an introspective mood. “I’m getting kinda over this, I need a metamorphosis,” Adam Levine begins the song over a minimal, squiggly beat. “Are you as weak as me? If not, do you wanna be?” The “Issues” hitmaker then joins him on the emo chorus. “Help me out, ’cause I don’t wanna do this on my own.”

As much as I love Maroon 5’s feel-good anthems (“Sugar,” “Moves Like Jagger” etc.), it’s nice to hear them mix it up with a bit of 2017-appropriate despair. “Help Me Out” is one of several collaborations on Red Pill Blues. The band also teams up with LunchMoney Lewis on “Who I Am” and A$AP Rocky on “Whiskey.” That’s in addition to SZA’s feature on current single “What Lovers Do.” Check out M5’s latest below.
