Sam Smith Announces 'The Thrill Of It All'
Sam Smith reveals the cover and tracklist of his much-anticipated sophomore LP.

Sam Smith ramps up the promotion for his much-anticipated sophomore LP, The Thrill Of It All (due November 3), with an appearance on Saturday Night Live. He began with an understated rendition of “Too Good At Goodbyes.” Perhaps a little too understated. The Brit’s vocal was on-point, but the performance was somehow stilted. That was not the case, however, with “Pray.” After a costume change, Sam belted out his new buzz track with the help of a full choir and really connected with the song and the viewer.

“Pray” represents something of a change of pace for the 25-year-old. Produced by Timbaland, the ballad introduces aspects of hip-hop into his sound and finds him singing about world issues. If it’s any indication, The Thrill Of It All is going to be full of gentle surprises. Sam’s appearance on SNL had an instant impact on sales with “Too Good At Goodbyes” rebounding into the iTunes top 10. Watch the vocalist do his thing above and below.
