It looks like Kylie Minogue's 14th album will have a splash of country.

Salvation is coming in January, 2018! According to The Sun, that’s when Kylie Minogue’s new single drops. The pop star spoke with the UK tabloid about her new LP, revealing that it touches on her relationship woes. “There’s a little bit of heartbreak, I would say,” she reveals. “Mostly I try to reflect where I am.” However, it’s not a break-up album. “Definitely, in the last year, there’s been some of that but we bounce back. Most of it is super positive and inspiring, as a note to self as much as anything else. I’m feeling great right now.”

“It was cathartic,” the 49-year-old continues. “It was good. In the studio it’s a slightly weird concept to be spending seven, eight, nine hours in a room with people sometimes you don’t know. If you’re working with good people it’s the perfect place to deal with stuff.” Interestingly, the diva’s stint in Nashville was integral to the album. “I went to Nashville for two weeks and that became the album,” Kylie explains. “I did a lot of work on the album before that but Nashville had a profound effect on me.”

How so? “The songs are very storytelling and story-based. It was so great to do things a little bit differently.” To get some idea of how far along the album is, Kylie is already thinking about styling and touring. “You’ve got me at a time where I can see light at the end of the tunnel,” she says. “Thoughts are turning to the look. There will be shows next year for sure. I can’t wait to perform again.” Revisit the iconic fitness anthem “Sexercize” to brighten your Monday below.
