Justin Timberlake & Timbaland (Again)
Justin Timberlake is back in the studio with long-time collaborator Timbaland.

Well, this isn’t the reaction he was hoping for. Justin Timberlake was confirmed as the half-time performer at Super Bowl LII yesterday (October 22). Only instead of generating excitement, the announcement elicited anger from Janet Jackson fans and other fair-minded individuals. After all, the pair’s infamous 2004 performance all but ended the pop diva’s chart career. She was banned by Super Bowl and blacklisted on radio and TV because of that rogue nipple, while JT walked away unscathed.

“It had better damn well be a 15 minute apology to Janet Jackson for hanging her out to dry in 2004,” reads one of the 1000+ (mostly outraged) responses to Justin’s tweet. “Is Janet still banned from that thing you 2 did? Asking for a friend,” was another. It just got uglier from there. Even the kinder tweets contained a gentle reprimand. “Congrats!” a fan wrote. “U will do great, but please do the right thing and invite Janet Jackson to be a part of it. It’s only fair.” See a selection of responses below.
