Camila Cabello finds love in an unexpected place in the blockbuster music video for her steamy single “Havana.” The Latin-crossover track has proven to be a hit for the aspiring solo star, and the music video gives her an opportunity to showcase her acting skills and some slick choreography. Released today (October 24), she plays several roles in the dramatic storyline.

The Dave Meyers-directed visual opens with an extended introduction featuring YouTubers LeLe Pons and LeJaun James. In it the hitmaker plays a reserved homebody who lives out her life through telenovelas. If the introduction gets off to a slow start, things pick up as she sneaks out of her house to hit a movie theater. The track kicks in as Camila plays the leading lady in the film and searches for a romantic partner. Shot in rich jewel tones, the “I Have Questions” siren seems most confident in these scenes. She dances with a couple of men before ultimately deciding that she is better off on her own. Her counterpart in the theater though bumps into a potential partner on the streets after the film comes to a close.

“Havana” is truly proving to be a breakout track for Camila. After “Crying in the Club” came up short, she struck gold with the hypnotic bop that is tearing up charts across the globe. It has already risen to the number 2 spot in Australia and the UK and is sitting comfortably at number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video and some additional promotional performances will only give the track a boost. If the former Fifth Harmony member plays her cards right, she may end up with her first top 10 US hit as a solo artist. Check out the video below.
