A Q&A With PRETTYMUCH
We speak to PRETTYMUCH about boy band life and debut single, 'Would You Mind.'

PRETTYMUCH retains their lead as the most promising new boy band of 2017 with “Open Arms.” After dropping a pair of bangers (’90s throwback “Would You Mind” and the more contemporary “Teacher”), Simon Cowell’s new charges switch it up with a largely a cappella ballad. “Got that key to your heart, scrape my knees on the pavement,” they sing on the chorus. “Here with open arms, so when you’re ready you know where to find me.” A minimal beat drops about halfway through to keep the song interesting, but this is all about their voices.

And that’s what sets PRETTYMUCH apart. They can sing really, really well. When you factor in their dancing ability and access to pop’s hottest songwriters and producers via Simon’s contacts, you’re left with a rock solid band with huge potential. They just need a song to connect. “Open Arms” might be a little too offbeat (or that could work in its favor), but they have a dozen more jams in the can. Listen to their latest below.
