Mariah Carey Contributes Holiday Original “Lil Snowman” To ‘AIWFCIY’ Soundtrack
As the temperature drops and the festive season nears, Mariah Carey’s power starts to grow. The official Queen of Christmas (sorry Gwen Stefani & Sia) is busier than usual this year with two new holiday classics. Mimi contributes “The Star” to the similarly-titled animated movie and performs half the soundtrack of Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You. Yes, they made a cartoon based on the 47-year-old’s timeless hit. There’s even a new song called “Lil Snowman,” which the press release describes as a “blizzard of fun.”
We’ll be able to judge for ourselves soon enough. Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You soundtrack drops digitally on Friday (November 10) with a physical release to follow on November 17. What’s the movie about? Dog-sitting, I think. “When Little Mariah sees a darling little puppy named Princess at the pet store, she suddenly knows exactly what she wants for Christmas,” the synopsis reads. “Before her Christmas wish can come true, she must prove that she can dog-sit her uncle’s dog, Jack.” I’m sold. Add the film to your collection from November 14.
