Remy Ma Signs To Columbia
Remy Ma has a new record deal and a collaboration with Lil' Kim on the way.

Remy Ma joins forces with Lil’ Kim for her first single on Columbia Records. The track was hyped as another dig at Nicki Minaj, but with the exception of a couple of scathing bars that may or may not be aimed at her rival, this is more a declaration of her own prowess. It’s also a loving tribute to her collaborator. “I wanted to pay homage to Kim,” the rapper told Beats 1 Radio. “I feel like she is like the Madonna of the hip-hop world to me. Her style is iconic, and I wanted to show homage and pay homage to that.”

The “All The Way Up” hitmaker does that by taking it all the way back. There’s nothing pop or crossover about this record. Instead, Remy and Kim simply do their thing over a hypnotic groove. It’s a promising first taste of the comeback queen’s new LP, 7 Winters & 6 Summers. “Columbia Records is lucky to get to partner with Remy on this album,” Shawn “Tubby” Holiday, the SVP of A&R, says in the press release. “It is an incredible album detailing Remy’s story. She has so much to give her fans and this industry. Remy is a true hip hop Icon and we are beyond excited to share her music, and her vision, with the world.”
