Macklemore and Kesha reflect on their pre-fame lives in their nostalgic new video.

Kesha may have her roots firmly in pop, but she is rapidly becoming the queen of crossover hits. Last month she participated in CMT’s CMT Crossroads series, and we are finally getting a taste of her set ahead of the episode’s debut tomorrow (December 6). The show’s premise is to pair country acts with musicians from other genres to provide a new take on a classic, and the Rainbow hitmaker more than delivers.

For her set, Kesha teamed up with Old Medicine Crow Show to cover “Wagon Wheel,” a classic hit that has been interpreted by everyone from Nathan Carter To Darius Rucker. Resplendent in an embroidered dress, the pink-haired siren delivered predictably strong vocals. It should come as no surprise that she has the potential to become a country queen. After all, her last album does feature a collaboration with enduring country legend Dolly Parton. The pair delivered an updated version of “Old Flames (Can’t Hold A Candle To You),” a track Kesha’s mother, Pebe Sebert, wrote on in the ’70s.

After nabbing her first ever Grammy nominations last week, the “Praying” singer is keeping busy as the holiday season looms closer. She has performed at a handful of stops on the Jingle Ball Tour and is also rumored to have recorded a remix of her rollicking female empowerment anthem “Woman” with Macklemore. The pair were spotted on a video set, and fans are hoping that they have something fierce up their sleeves. Until we have more news though watch her get in touch with her country side up top.
