Camila Cabello is gearing up for world domination with the release of her self-titled debut album in January. The LP is available for pre-order today (December 7), and to celebrate the occasion the 20-year-old has unveiled two new buzz tracks, “Never Be The Same” and “Real Friends.” They are both pop perfection, but the former is shaping up to be something big.

In an interview with Official Charts, Camila said that the track was the “easiest song to write,” adding that it took only an hour. Produced by Frank Dukes, it is a shimmering ode to a lover. “Suddenly, I’m a fiend and you’re all I need,” she coos over sweet synths before declaring how deeply she has fallen in love on the chorus. “It’s you babe. And I’m a sucker for the way that you move, babe. And I could try to run, but it would be useless. You’re to blame. Just one hit, you will know I’ll never be the same.” Her vocals are feathery light and seem to dance over Dukes’ candy-coated production.

“Real Friends” is more of what I’d expected from Camila after hearing her foray into folksier pop alongside Shawn Mendes on “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” It has more of an acoustic feel as she laments her ability to find true companionship over acoustic strings. “I’m just lookin’ for some real friends. All they ever do is let me down. Every time I let somebody in then I find out what they’re all about,” she sings.

It is rumored that “Never Be The Same” may become the album’s next official single, and it feels like a fitting follow-up to “Havana.” The song highlights her distinctive vocals and boasts an earworm-worthy chorus that is bound to be stuck on repeat in your head after one listen. Camila is becoming one of the most consistent acts in the industry, and her latest releases only leave you wanting more. Listen to “Never Be The Same” up top and “Real Friends” below!
