Kelly's 'Meaning Of Life:' Album Review
Kelly Clarkson is reborn over soulful riffs on her 8th album, 'Meaning Of Life.'

Kelly Clarkson was one of the many musical guests on the season finale of The Voice on Tuesday night (December 19). Instead of belting out “Love So Soft,” the lead single of her recently-released Meaning Of Life LP, the 35-year-old delivered a killer rendition of “Medicine.” One of the many soulful, uptempo tracks on the album, the Mick Schulz-produced anthem is certainly catchy enough for chart success. It’s just not as good as “Heat,” the other option they were bouncing around as the second single.

Now that I’ve got that off my chest (!), let’s get back to Kelly’s scene-stealing performance. The enduring hitmaker has really come into her own as a live performer this era. She has always delivered sublime vocals, but there’s a more cohesive feel on stage now as far as the lighting, costumes and arrangement go. The inaugural American Idol has also come into her own confidence-wise, strutting around like the fierce diva we always suspected was hiding beneath that girl-next-door exterior. Watch her in action up top.
