Camila Cabello is closing out 2017 by taking a trip down memory lane. Today (December 29) the “Havana” hitmaker unleashed a music video in support of her new single, “Never Be The Same.” Comprised of behind the scenes footage from the past year and adorable home videos of the budding solo star, it is a real treat.

Taking to Instagram, she explained that the visual was intended as a New Year’s Eve gift for fans. “i wanted to give this to you guys as a New Year’s Eve present but i was too excited and couldn’t wait,” she wrote in a series of posts. “this is a thank you from the bottom of my heart for always being here for me and for all the memories we’ve made together this year. i frickin love you all so much and PS my family and i cried several times watching this back. IT’S END OF THE YEAR EMO TIME.”

Opening with a speedy flashback of some of the 20-year-old’s biggest accomplishments this year, the video then takes us back to her childhood. Her youthful memories with family and friends offer a more intimate glimpse at the pop princess. Of course, it also chronicles how important music has always been to her, as she is captured with a guitar in hand at various ages.

Looking back, it is impressive how far Camila has come, and it is clear that she means to make 2018 an even bigger year. “Thank you for the best year of my life,” she wrote as the visual closed out with a photo of her album cover and promised more to come upon its release.

It is unclear if this is intended as the single’s official music video. Earlier this week she was also teasing what appeared to be a lyric video for the track on social media, and it is entirely possible that she has more in store for 2018. We will have to wait and see. But until then watch the adorable release up top!
