Iggy Azalea is preparing to make an official return to the scene with her new album Surviving the Summer later this year. After a very confusing 2017 that was defined by leaks and pushed back release dates, the “Fancy” hitmaker is gearing up for much smoother sailing in the new year. Although nothing is officially set in stone just yet, last night (January 1) she hopped on social media to confirm that we would be getting a taste of the LP this month.

“My single is being released in January as originally tweeted. Nothing’s changed. I’ll anounce when I’m ready, a few days before,” Iggy clarified to a fan who shared some unofficial release dates on Twitter. Fans were quick to ask for a bit more information regarding the new music. They wanted to know if the release would be a buzz track or an official single, but the femcee explained that she was unsure herself at the moment. “When I have that information in stone that’s when I’ll clarify everything for you guys,” she said.

Anticipation has been building since the Aussie announced her forthcoming project. After an entire LP of work was trashed, it is positive to hear that she has something new in the works. “Mo Bounce” and “Switch” boasted some of the biggest beats of last year, and it is hard to believe that they failed to take off. 2017 was decidedly not her year, but things are on the upturn in 2018! Here is hoping that Iggy is able to reclaim her spot at the top of the charts moving forward. Check out the tweets below!
