Flashback: Kylie Minogue's 'Timebomb'
In an alternate universe, Kylie's 'Timebomb' would have been #1 for weeks.

Kylie Minogue’s long-awaited 14th album is called Golden and has a Spring release date! That’s the information to be gleaned from a mysterious poster that has been plastered around Paris. It all seemed a little suspect (why are they using a football-themed pic from her 2017 calendar?), but the pop icon subsequently confirmed the title via Twitter. “It’s true,” she informed her 2.37 million followers. “We have GOLDEN times ahead!!! I can’t wait to share new music with you.”

It didn’t take long for rumors about to the lead single to gain momentum. Apparently, it’s called “Dancing” and drops this month. There’s no source for this apart from an article published in UK tabloid The Sun way back in October. “There’s a little bit of heartbreak, I would say,” the 49-year-old said of the album. However, it’s not a downer. “Definitely, in the last year, there’s been some of that but we bounce back. Most of it is super positive and inspiring, as a note to self as much as anything else. I’m feeling great right now.”

Interestingly, Golden could have an earthy twist. “I went to Nashville for two weeks and that became the album,” Kylie shared with The Sun. “I did a lot of work on the album before that but Nashville had a profound effect on me.” She worked with country producers Nathan Chapman, Phil Barton and Lindsay Rimes, but don’t expect any boot-scooting bops from the pop great (even though I would be here for it). Instead, she was inspired by their approach to songwriting. “The songs are very storytelling and story-based.”

So, who did she work with? EDM heavyweights DJ Fresh and Sigala as well as a bunch of regular collaborators including Karen Poole, Brian Higgins, Richard “Biff” Stannard and Guy Chambers. See Kylie’s tweet below.
