The Most-Anticipated Albums Of 2018
From Beyonce to Selena Gomez, we round up our most-anticipated albums of 2018.

When asked about Chvrches’ third LP in a recent interview, Lauren Mayberry called it “the most pop stuff we’ve done and also the most aggressive and vulnerable at the same time.” That description definitely applies to “Get Out” — the anthemic lead single, which arrived this morning (January 31). Beginning with whirring, clattering synths, the love song (or sorts) sounds darker and heavier than their previous output. However, by the time the chorus arrives, it has blossomed into a big, bold pop anthem with a sing-along chorus.

It’s a hard juggling-act to pull off, but super producer Greg Kurstin gets it just right. “Working with Greg was so different to what we’d done before, but it also felt so comfortable and like he’d been in our band forever,” the band reveals. “He doesn’t try to make you write a certain kind of song. He just listens and then Jedi puppet masters the best work out of you. The opening synth riff of ‘Get Out’ was the first thing to emerge on our first day in the studio with him.”

If “Get Out” is any indication, the Scottish synth-pop band is about to deliver their best album to date. Feast your ears on the track below.
