Normani Signs Solo Management Deal
She's coming! Fifth Harmony's Normani Kordei signs a solo management deal.

Normani Kordei’s solo career gets off to a flying start with “Love Lies,” a slinky collaboration with Khalid. Lifted from the Jack Antonoff-curated Love, Simon soundtrack, the dreamy mid-tempo anthem showcases her voice and hints at the R&B/pop direction of her side-project. “I’ve been so into your mystery, is it because of our history?” she coos in her opening verse, before joining the “Location” hitmaker on the chorus. “So baby tell me where your love lies, waste the day and spend the night underneath the sunrise.”

“Love Lies” has every chance of being a very big song, but Harmonizers have nothing to worry about. In an interview with Zane Lowe, Normani confirmed that Fifth Harmony is still her number one priority. “I think that we definitely proven to ourselves and the rest of the world that we’ve worked incredibly hard to get to the place where we’re able to really explore ourselves now,” she says of the group’s various solo projects. “And I think that it’s a space that we created amongst the four of us, that nobody else will probably understand.”

“It’s not easily understood but it’s something that we understand within each other and we’re confident women individually and also together but we do recognize that you know at the end of the day none of us would have these individual opportunities to explore ourselves or to show the world who we are, without each other… we’ve literally been through any and everything you could possibly imagine, good and bad,” the 21-year-old continues. “It’s us against the world and that’s together and apart. We’ll always have some place to call home which is Fifth Harmony.”

How far along is her solo project? “I’m in the beginning stages so maybe like 30 percent,” Normani reveals. Listen to the full interview here (Zane also spoke with Khalid) and check out the addictive bop below.
