Meghan Trainor Delivers Her First Performance Of “No Excuses” On ‘Ellen’

Meghan Trainor means business in 2018. The 24-year-old dropped her new single “No Excuses” and its pastel-hued video yesterday. But she has wasted no time in hitting the promotional circuits. Today (March 2), she stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show for the debut performance of the feisty track, and she touched down on the stage with a high energy extravaganza that left the audience dancing along.

Looking all sorts of chic in a pair of wide-legged trousers and a bedazzled jean jacket over a fringed bra, she delivered pitch-perfect vocals. Joined by a quartet of backing vocalists and a live band, they all rocked out in front of a simple stage that featured a healthy dose of glitter. It was another high-octane performance like we have come to expect from the “Me Too” superstar, and she absolutely delivered.

In the last 24 hours, MTrain has racked up nearly 2 million views on her video and is sitting in the top 5 on the US iTunes chart at the time of publication. If things keep up, expect her to make a strong debut on the Billboard Hot 100 next week. Things are heating up as Meghan gears up to unleash her third studio album later this year.

On social media she has described the LP as an exploration of pop. Citing ABBA and Britney Spears as her inspirations, she promised it would contain “something for everyone.” Newly engaged and seemingly more confident than ever before, she seems very likely to deliver one of the year’s strongest albums. While we wait for more news, watch her debut performance up top!
