Meghan Trainor released her new single “No Excuses” last week, and she wants you all to know. Since rolling out the track, the hitmaker has embarked on an impressive promotional tour that includes a stop on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, a pastel-hued video and a collaboration with Zumba for a fierce dance video. But that is not all. Last night (March 5), she made her first appearance on the late-night circuit to perform the anthem on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Dressed in a chic black suit complete with bell bottoms over a bedazzled top, Meghan delivered another exemplary vocal performance. Joined by a live band and a quartet of backing vocalists, they performed on an iridescent stage as a screen behind them projected a starry sky. After the glittery extravaganza, MTrain hopped on social media to thank Charm La’Donna for bringing her “weird space dreams to life” with her staging.

The “Me Too” superstar really means business this time around, and the promo is paying off. At the time of publication, “No Excuses” has soared to the top spot on the US iTunes chart. It is also becoming a certified radio hit and is racking up streams on its music video. If this keeps up, expect the anthem to make a strong debut on next week’s Billboard Hot 100.

“No Excuses” is the first taste of what is on the way with Meghan’s forthcoming album. Expected to drop later this year, it is being lauded as a massive exploration of pop sub-genres. The 24-year-old listed ABBA, Britney Spears and the ’80s as some of her inspirations, which means she has surely cooked up a collection of stone cold bops. Watch her latest performance up top!
