Jessica Mauboy Returns With 'Risk It'
Aussie pop star Jess Mauboy is back with a catchy new track called 'Risk It.'

I’m still not sure why Australia gained eligibility for Eurovision, but I’m not complaining. Since making their debut in 2015 with Guy Sebastian’s “Tonight Again,” the Aussies have become something of a powerhouse — never finishing outside the top 10. Their best result came in 2016 when Dami Im’s “Sound Of Silence” placed second, a feat Jessica Mauboy is hoping to improve on this year. Co-written and produced by DNA (the team behind Dami’s much-loved entry), “We Got Love” is a soaring dance-pop anthem with uplifting lyrics.

“I love the Eurovision Song Contest,” Jessica says in a press release. “I have since I was a little girl watching it with the family in Darwin.” What’s it all about? “I wanted to write a song that captured that instinctive sense of joy of how a great song can change the darkest of moods into happiness. ‘We Got Love’ is also about how music can lift the human spirit. You can always rise above in the hardest times with something as simple as a great song.” That sentiment is echoed by DNA.

“[This] is a song about unity and a reminder that love, acceptance and the power of inclusivity can overcome all obstacles or hardships that arise,” David Musumeci and Anthony Egizii explain. “Especially in times like these where the world can be a very confusing and lonely place, it’s important to remember when we feel disarmed of empowerment that we still hold the greatest chance for change with love.” With such a timely message, and Jessica’s flawless vocals, “We Got Love” stands a real shot of winning.
