Katy Perry's 'Witness': Album Review
Katy Perry boldly explores club sub-genres on her banger-heavy new album.

Katy Perry is a good sport. The pop star dropped by a Japanese TV show last night (March 28) to perform “Act My Age” and partake in a little force feeding. Let’s get nugget-gate out of the way first. Katheryn was tasked with eating as many pieces of chicken-y goodness as she could, and let’s just say the hitmaker exceeded expectations. I’m pretty sure she demolished a 10-pack in as many seconds… before regurgitating most of it. On live TV. Talk about going the extra mile in the name of promo!

In addition to potentially nabbing a KFC sponsorship, Katy also belted out “Act My Age.” Which song? Well, it’s one of two (very good) Witness bonus tracks that were only available on the deluxe Target edition in the US. The perky bop, which was produced by Ilya, Rationale and Mark Crew, was tacked on to the international release and unexpectedly became popular in Japan when it was used in a commercial for fabric softener. Watching the pop diva’s fun, feel-good performance, I can’t help but think Witness would have got a much warmer reception with a tweaked tracklist and different singles.

Watch Katy demolish several boxes of chicken nuggets up top and then check out “Act My Age” below.
