Selena Gomez and Marshmello's 'Wolves' video is a dark and dreamy affair.

The internet has been buzzing about Selena Gomez releasing a new single called “Back To You” since the title was registered with ASCAP. The whispers only became louder when the pop star’s official fan Twitter shared a Puma promotion that included the words “Back To You.” Well, it just became official! Selena fired up her rarely used social media accounts to confirm the song. However, there’s a twist. This is not the long-awaited start of SG2. “Out May 10th, part of the @13ReasonsWhy S2 soundtrack,” she writes. “I’m so excited for you guys to hear it.”

The 25-year-old also shared a cute polaroid, which finds her sitting on top of an old-fashioned vanity. What do we know about “Back To You” at this point? Only that it’s likely to be very emo given its use in the somber 13 Reasons Why franchise, which deals with teen suicide. Also, don’t be surprised if it’s another experiment with alternative music given the collaborators listed on ASCAP. Amy Allen is best known for her ’90s pop/rock vibe, while the others have written songs for artists as diverse as DJ Felix Jaehn and alt-rockers The Wombats.

See Selena’s exciting announcement below. “Back To You” follows “Wolves,” which cracked the top 10 in 18 countries around the world.
