Christina Aguilera Reflects On Her Creative Journey In A New ‘Liberation’ Teaser

Christina Aguilera is teasing the arrival of her new album (rumored to be titled Liberation) in a big way. It has been nearly six years since the icon rolled out Lotus, and it seems her highly anticipated return is imminent. After revealing some new promotional footage during a performance in Baku, Azerbaijan over the weekend, the 37-year-old took to social media to post a snapshot from what looks like a video shoot. Fighters were quick to study all of the new material, and they expect the LP’s lead single is titled “Accelerate.” Furthermore, it may be arriving this Friday (May 3). That’s not all, though!

Today (May 1), Xtina returned to Instagram to post another teaser. In it, she reflects on life and potentially alludes to her creative process. “I feel in life when you get to a place where you feel so comfortable and so routine. Then, you know, you have to stop and start from scratch,” she muses over somber strings while reclining in a bed. In a final scene, she lights a match, and we hear a second of what may be her new single. It is an earnest moment from the diva and implies she may have recorded the bulk of her album’s current tracklist recently. This could explain why the recording process has taken so long and also implies that she is taking some more risks this time around.
