Rita Ora recently sat down with the UK’s Sunday Times and spilled a lot of tea. For starters, she accused Jay-Z’s Roc Nation (her former US label) of discrimination. “I want to find the right word here, and maybe this is my interpretation, but I do feel I got discriminated against because I was a woman,” the pop star revealed. “I almost felt — maybe this is just my interpretation — I could have had a better chance if I’d been male.” However, there’s no bad blood. She described her relationship with Hov as “very cordial.”

The Brit also reiterated that she’s not “Becky with the good hair.” And she has a rock-solid alibi. “All I want to say to that is, dude, if I were BWTGH, wouldn’t I actually have to have good hair? Look at it,” Rita says. “It’s all weave and extensions.” Furthermore, the hitmaker is a loyal member of The Hive. “And, I mean, Beyoncé?” she adds. “Omigod. She’s the nicest person, bestest person I have ever met in the whole industry. I’m not just saying that. I’d die for her. Nobody can ever say anything wrong about that woman in front of me. I get emotional just talking about it.”

Rita’s new single drops on May 11. It’s called “Girls” and features an all-star cast of Bebe Rexha, Charli XCX and Cardi B. With any luck, this will be the US smash she’s been waiting for.
