Sam Smith & Logic “Pray” Remix Gets A Suitably Striking Video
A soaring ballad with gospel and hip-hop influences, “Pray” always stood out as a potential single on Sam Smith’s The Thrill Of It All. That eventually came to pass, albeit in a remixed form featuring Logic. I don’t think the rapper’s presence adds anything to the song, but it’s destined to attract attention. The video, which was directed by Joe Connor, arrives today (May 9) and it’s suitably stunning. Filmed in stunning Lake Como, Italy, most of the action takes place in the famed Villa Erba.
The resulting visual is a feast for the senses with Sam rocking a series of designer suits in the 19th century villa’s daunting halls and stately rooms. There’s also a touch of whimsy via a miniature horse, a man on stilts, some interpretative dancing (always a must in any classy video) and a smattering of butterflies. It certainly holds your attention and should help “Pray” work its way up the Billboard Hot 100. Watch up top.
