The Aussie pop star kicks off his sophomore era with a bop and racy video.

Is there a new feud brewing in the pop realm? Last week, Troye Sivan announced that his highly anticipated sophomore LP is titled Bloom. He shared the news and confirmed the project was fully mastered on his new app and then opened up about the title in a recent feature for The New York Times. Fans are speculating the album could arrive shortly, and the news has sparked a new level of excitement about its imminent release. However, there is one person who is not thrilled: Machine Gun Kelly. The Cleveland-born rapper took to Twitter last night (May 14) to voice his displeasure that the album shares a title with his 2017 release.

“Kinda weird that dude released an entire album called bloom one year after i release an album called bloom,” he wrote. MGK’s Bloom featured his Camila Cabello collaboration “Bad Things,” which peaked inside the top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 and became his most successful release to date. The album itself landed in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. It was released almost exactly a year before the “My My My!” crooner announced his own project. It is worth noting that artists release albums with the same title all the time. For example, both Hayley Kiyoko and Bebe Rexha will roll out albums called Expectations this year.

Fans were quick to point this out to the rapper. In fact, one went so far as to post a series of photos of all the projects including the word “bloom” in their title on Spotify. The list includes Troye’s recently released title track as well as songs from the likes of ODESZA. Check out MGK’s tweet below!
