Flashback: PCD's 'Hush Hush'
The Pussycat Dolls' 'Hush Hush' deserved to be a much, much bigger hit.

Update: Pia Mia was spotted at another audition for members of The Pussycat Dolls: Next Generation. Check out some additional footage from try-outs here.

So much for that Pussycat Dolls reunion! Anticipation has been high for the original lineup to link up again since rumors of a potential tour popped up online last October. Frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger confirmed a reunion was looking increasingly likely in a November interview with The Sun. “We’re a lot closer to it now than ever before,” the 39-year-old revealed. However, it looks like plans to get the hitmakers back together have fallen apart. Instead, it looks like creator Robin Antin intends to launch a new group of divas under the moniker Pussycat Dolls: Next Generation with Pia Mia fronting the revival.

Earlier this week, a flyer began circulating on Instagram announcing auditions to try out for the group. Antin and Mikey Minden are listed as creative and artistic directors, while Dexter Carr will act as the official choreographer. The try outs took place yesterday (May 23) in Los Angeles. Fans were quick to note that Pia is the only person followed by the PCD’s verified Instagram account, leading to speculation that she would front the project. Today footage emerged from the auditions, and Antin confirmed the 21-year-old’s involvement. There is no news on when we can expect new music from the collective, but it seems like something big is on the horizon.

Although the “I’m A Fan” singer hasn’t outright confirmed her status in the group, she alluded to a massive project on her Twitter account. “Tomorrow can’t come soon enough,” she wrote in one tweet. In another she got more cryptic. “A storm is coming.” Considering previous bops like 2016’s “Touch” and her ability to execute tightly choreographed routines, she is an obvious choice to lead the group. With any luck, it will give the underrated diva more exposure. Check out some footage from try-outs below and keep an eye peeled for more news about the group.
