Ariana Grande Almost Worked With Migos On ‘Dangerous Woman’ Track, “Be Alright”

Ariana Grande conquered the charts with her 2016 LP Dangerous Woman. Boasting an array of massive anthems, she landed in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 twice. On the project she linked up with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Future and Macy Gray. However, it looks like she could have added rap trio Migos to the list of collaborators. Yesterday (May 30) a demo surfaced that revealed she had considered working with the “MotorSport” rappers on the dazzling buzz track “Be Alright.”

The ’90s-tinged house anthem was an infectious moment. On it, Ari delivers feathery light vocals over a sun-kissed production. But the demo reveals it could have sounded drastically different had the feature made the final tracklist. On it, Migos act as hype men. After calling themselves out near the front-end of the track they share duties on the chorus with the “No Tears Left To Cry” siren. Eventually they deliver a verse of their own. “If I could pick one girl in the world, I would be with you,” they announce.

It is unclear when the demo was recorded or where it could have landed. Ari may have considered including the version on the official tracklist, or she may have had plans to release it as a remix. It is worth noting that the collaboration was ahead of the curve considering she linked up with Migos before they topped the Billboard Hot 100 with “Bad & Boujee” in 2016. However, it is probably for the best that it was left on the cutting room floor. With their heavily auto-tuned voices, the group sounds out of place on the track. All things considered, I prefer the official version. Check out the demo here and let us know your thoughts.
