Meghan Trainor Talks New Music
We speak to the pop star about new singles 'Let You Be Right' and 'Can't Dance.'

Meghan Trainor’s “Let You Be Right” video is an explosion of looks, lasers and choreography. It finds the pop star at her sassiest, which is really saying something, holding court in a club with a group of dancers. “It’s my best video yet,” she boasted when I interviewed her in May. “I swear, it’s so pretty and so well done. We have so many great looks that came from my brain and from Pinterest and my team.” Those looks include a white leotard and pigtails as well as baggy, ’90s pants.

“Let You Be Right” is the second single from Meghan’s third LP after “No Excuses.” As those bops hint, the album is going to be a pure-pop opus. “It’s fun, dance-y stuff with a little funk,” the 24-year-old revealed. “It has an ’80s and ’90s feel. I love those early Britney Spears, *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys pop moments and I was trying to bring some of that back. Kind of what I did with ‘No.’ I love that vibe. That was my favorite kind of pop.” Watch the club queen’s colorful video up top and revisit “Can’t Dance” (think of it as the song’s B-side) below.
