It has been nearly six years since Christina Aguilera last released an album. But that changes today (June 15) with the unveiling of Liberation. In honor of the momentous occasion, the 37-year-old kicked off a promotional tour with a late-night performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. This marks her second televised performance of the era. Last month she and Demi Lovato lit the 2018 Billboard Music Awards stage afire with their rousing rendition of “Fall In Line.” However, the Tell Me You Love Me siren is currently on vocal rest and was thus unable to join Xtina last night. So, the pop legend performed a solo version of their rebellious anthem. Unsurprisingly, she slayed.

Joined by a live band and a quartet of backup dancers, she highlighted her impressive vocals. Dressed in a pinstriped jacket with some serious shoulder pads, Christina tackled Demi’s verse with ease. Instead of totally removing her from the track, the “Solo” star’s voice was beamed in on some of the harmonies. It was a little surprising to hear her without seeing her, but the decision added some additional depth to the performance. In another segment from the show, she and host Jimmy Fallon hit the New York City subway system to busk in costume. After a crowd gathered to watch them perform Aretha Franklin’s “Think,” they revealed their identities and roared through a rendition of “Fighter.”

That was not the end of the promotional train either. This morning, the superstar touched down on TRL and the Today Show. We’ll add footage below as it becomes available. Keep an eye peeled for our review of Liberation, which will be dropping later today. In the meantime, watch Christina’s “Fall In Line” performance up top and check out her busking video below!
