After stealing every scene in the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again movie trailer, it looks like Cher also has grand designs on the soundtrack (due July 13). The pop icon’s cover of “Fernando” is being rolled out as a single and it’s every bit as amazing as a Cher/ABBA crossover should be. The 71-year-old is in fine form vocally and she blends surprisingly well with veteran actor Andy Garcia, who is also featured on the song. If the musical is as big as everyone expects, don’t be too surprised if the enduring diva snatches a surprise hit.

2018 is shaping up to be a big year for Cher. The original triple threat chews scenery like a pro in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, is still wowing crowds with her Classic Cher residency and — hopefully — has new music in the works. The “Believe” hitmaker is going all out to promote the former, making a surprise appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas to serenade theatre owners with “Fernando.” It goes without saying that she wasn’t just going to walk on stage with a microphone. From a clip filmed on a lucky attendee’s phone, you can see that the living legend went all out. Listen to the studio version below.
