Another day, another drama. By now everyone knows that there was an alleged feud growing between rap’s leading ladies, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. The pair have been rumored to be at war since the “Bodak Yellow” rapper made chart history by nabbing the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Things reached a fever pitch after they hopped on Migos’ “MotorSport” together last winter. However, it appeared that they had cleared the air during an impromptu meeting at the Met Gala last month. That didn’t stop a reporter from asking Lil’ Kim to weigh in on the drama during a red carpet event last night (June 21). The iconic rapper has long been engrossed in a feud of her own with the “Bed” hitmaker. So it should come as no surprise that she used the opportunity to throw another hit her way.

“You know, Cardi is my girl. I don’t know the other one,” she said in a clear reference to Mariah Carey’s classic diss of Jennifer Lopez from the early millennium. Kim went on to voice her excitement for the “I Like It” rapper as she prepares for motherhood. “But Cardi is my girl and so I’m so excited for my girl Cardi. I can’t wait for her to have the baby. I love you, Cardi!” All things considered, the “Lady Marmalade” siren’s statement doesn’t hold much water. She and Nicki have been trading barbs for years now. They released a handful of diss tracks (“Roman’s Revenge,” “Black Friday” and “Stupid Hoe”) throughout 2011. Things reached a fever pitch when Kim appeared to behead the up-and-comer on the cover of her Black Friday mixtape.

As recently as last year, they had continued to feed into the furor. Kim took another dig at Nicki by teaming up with her more current rival Remy Ma on “Wake Me Up.” So, I am going to clock that in as a rather ineffective diss on her part. Maybe she was simply hoping to link up with Cardi for a feature of her own? Check out footage from the interview below and weigh in with your thoughts!
