Wallows Interview
We speak to the rising indie band about their debut LP & 'Spring' EP.

After landing a string of viral hits (“Pleaser” and “Uncomfortable,” for starters), Wallows ranks as one of breakout bands of 2018 thanks to their Spring EP. It’s hard to pick a standout from the immaculate six-song set, but “These Days” probably showcases their breezy, Cali sound and retro influences better than any other. It’s now being rolled out as a single with a suitably striking video. Directed by Daniel Iglesias Jr., the educational clip highlights the dangers of unwanted serenading.

It all starts charmingly enough with Wallows performing “These Days” outside the bedroom window of a flame-haired woman. Only, she looks less than impressed and watches disinterestedly while eating cereal and checking on her goldfish. Things then take an unexpected turn, but — to their credit — the band plays on. If you like what you hear, Braeden Lemasters, Cole Preston and Dylan Minnette have a bunch on festival performances scheduled for the summer and fall including Lollapalooza, Life is Beautiful, Austin City Limits Music Festival and the Voodoo Music & Arts Experience. Find out more here and watch “These Days” up top.
