In this day and age, there is plenty to be worried about. In addition to worldwide poverty, equal access to healthcare and education, and the state of the environment, Americans are also combatting current political and social policies. Singers and musicians alike have since been using their platforms to take up these causes because they hope to see a change in this world. While many are combatting family separation at U.S. border in 2018, other artists are also taking up more causes — like one group who was banned from a festival for their political views!

Brendon Urie Pledges $1 Million For A Safe And Inclusive Community

Brendon Urie, lead singer of Panic! At the Disco, is working to support human rights by pledging $1 million to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Urie and GLSEN are working to create Gender & Sexuality/Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) clubs in American high schools.

Urie said, “For years my fans have inspired me with their determination and creativity as they have created a safe and inclusive community… I felt the time had come for me to join them boldly, to bring that energy and power to bear on the huge challenges facing our whole society.”
