Iggy Azalea’s Surviving The Summer has been hit by yet another delay. The 28-year-old announced plans to roll out her highly anticipated EP today (July 6). However, the release date has now been pushed back to August 3, and the collection is officially available for pre-order. This is the latest setback for the project, which has gone through a variety of iterations since first being announced last November. Originally billed as her sophomore LP, it has since shrunk in size. It also looks like the Quavo-assisted lead single “Savior” has been scrapped after it failed to make a dent on the charts. Despite the change in plans, the Aussie hitmaker treated fans to two new tracks. She celebrated the imminent release by dropping “Kream” and “Tokyo Snow Trip.”

After embracing trop-pop on “Savior,” Iggy’s latest output returns to her rap roots. Tyga joins her on “Kream,” which boasts a sparse and sexy beat. “First you get the money, then you get the power. Respect, hoes come last,” she icily announces on the opening lines. From there they trade off verses and come together on the hook. Meanwhile the “Fancy” hitmaker claims “Tokyo Snow Trip” is one of her favorite tracks on the project. “It sounds like nothing else and I love it, it’s a little bit reminiscent of, do you remember ‘The Whisper Song’ by The Ying Yang Twins? I rap in my full voice but then I also whisper, and I go back and forth whispering and rapping,” she said. It is another brooding banger, and both promise big things for the remainder of the project.

Of the two, it seems like Iggy will be focusing her attention on “Kream” as her next single. The hitmaker has a video in the works for the release. It was meant to drop tonight but got hit by a small delay. “Apparently my label and UMG have to leggally clear my video and so even though its uploaded and ready to go wont be out and until they clear it tomorrow morning,” she announced via Twitter. Although she was unsure on what time it would drop, she assured fans that it shouldn’t run into any problems. Why is she so certain? I’m glad you asked. “It should be cleared to VEVO as all i have in the video is ass and fish so i dont think there will be any clearance issues. this pussy is clear for takeoff,” she explained. It already sounds iconic. Stream her latest bangers below and pre-order Surviving The Summer here.
