Believe it or not, three years have passed since Twenty One Pilots dropped Blurryface and made the leap from alt-rock staples to global superstars. The duo’s fourth LP debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, propelled by the success of singles, “Stressed Out” and “Ride.” They both clicked at radio, finding love across multiple formats, and cracked the top five. They confirmed their status as certified hitmakers when “Heathens,” their contribution to the Suicide Squad soundtrack, climbed all the way to number two on the Billboard Hot 100.

After winding up their massive, 123-date Emotional Roadshow World Tour, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun took a well deserved break and left their social media channels unmanned for over a year. Twenty One Pilots broke the silence early this morning (July 9) by posting a mysterious video. It depicts flames burning in an animated eye. Could this signal the return of Blurryface — a fictional character that represents the bands’ insecurities? Is new music on the way? Check out the clip become and come to your own conclusions.
