Ariana Grande’s Sweetener is one of the most anticipated albums of the year. Expectations are high for the 25-year-old as she prepares to return to the scene after 2016’s critically acclaimed Dangerous Woman. She has already soared into the Top 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the anthemic lead single, “No Tears Left To Cry.” We know the diva has a handful of collabs on the LP including an appearance from Nicki Minaj on buzz single “The Light Is Coming.” She links up with rap icon Missy Elliott on “Borderline,” and fans believe that producer Pharrell Williams will hop on “Blame.” But, the latest rumor is that she has been cooking up a hit with the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna.

Fans of both pop stars went into a frenzy yesterday (July 11) when Ari posted a photo of the pair on Twitter. “thank you @madonna … u know why,” she captioned the black-and-white snap and included a heart and Golden Gate Bridge emoji. It is currently unclear what exactly the pop princess was thanking Madge for, but many speculate that they have recorded a track together. The “Into You” siren has been spotted in and out of recording studios recently, and one Arianator realized that she was working on a track July 10. It is worth noting that the twosome have some history.

The Rebel Heart legend spanked Ari onstage during a tour stop in 2016. “Kewtest Unapologetic Bitch EVER!! Thanks Ariana,” Madonna captioned a photo from the event. They reunited at a fundraiser later that year and were both in attendance at the 2018 Met Gala. Perhaps they talked about working at a bop together during the glamorous event. If they did, it will be interesting to see if it lands on Ari or Madonna’s album. The 59-year-old is working on an LP of her own and has a single called “Beautiful Game” in the works.

We will have to wait and see what comes from the rumors, but this is exciting news. In the meantime, Ari is unveiling another taste of Sweetener tonight when she drops her second official single, “God Is A Woman.” We’ll cross our fingers that she teases more info about this potential collaboration in the near future.
