New Music? Janet Jackson Is Filming A Video With Daddy Yankee
Where there’s smoke, there’s fire! A couple of days ago a stylist tweeted (and then deleted) that she was on the set of Janet Jackson and Daddy Yankee’s new video. Needless to say, that little tidbit got social media humming and the hype will only growing following the arrival of candid photos confirming the news. The enduring diva is indeed filming a visual with the “Despacito” rapper in Williamsburg, New York under the guidance of legendary director Dave Meyers. In one set of pics, Janet wears a flannel ensemble with a big, beautiful afro. She rocks a long plait and pink skirt in another look.
Not only is the cat out of the bag as far as the collaboration is concerned, but the title has already been leaked. It’s reportedly called “Made For Now” and due in August (this has not officially been confirmed). The surprise pairing actually makes a lot of sense. Latin music has never been hotter chart-wise and Spanish-speaking markets are notoriously less ageist than America when it comes to pop stars of a certain age. It’s also nice to see Janet going for something a little more current after throwing it way, way back on 2015’s dated Unbreakable.
