Demi Lovato is recovering after suffering an apparent overdose yesterday (July 24). TMZ broke the news that the 25-year-old was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after she was found unconscious in her home. They added that she was treated with Narcan on site. People reported that her condition was described as stable by a source close to her.

They confirmed that the siren is not under criminal investigation by the police. Allegedly no drugs were found at her home, and Demi refused to tell officers what she had taken. Initial reports implied that she had suffered a heroin overdose, however, that has since been denied. The hitmaker’s team issued a formal statement on her behalf.

“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support,” they wrote. “Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”

Fellow pop stars and celebrities including Ariana Grande, Bebe Rexha and Ellen DeGeneres flooded social media with support and messages of love. Lady Gaga shaded a particularly poignant message. “We should all wrap our arms around Demi Lovato. I am so happy you’re alive,” she wrote. Close friend Nick Jonas revealed that he was hit hard by the news. “Like all of you I am reeling at the news about Demi. All of us love her and need to pray for her to get well,” he wrote. “She is a fighter.”

Earlier this year the siren celebrated six years of sobriety. She has been engaged in a long-term battle with addiction and admitted to being high on cocaine while recording her Demi Lovato: Stay Strong documentary in 2012. However, a source revealed to People that her struggles were ongoing. ““She has been fighting depression and anxiety for quite some time — and [she] is still in such a dark place. She was sober for a while, but not completely sober for six years.”

Just last month the singer opened up about her ongoing battles and admitting to relapsing on her new song “Sober.” “Mama, I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore. And Daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor. To the ones who never left me, we’ve been down this road before. I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore,” she announced on the deeply emotional chorus. In the hours after the news broke, the single reentered the top 10 on US iTunes.
