Charli XCX Announces New Single, “Girls Night Out”

Charli XCX promised to fill the year with as much music as she possibly could. “I am going to release a lot music this year. and a lot of videos. you’re gonna be so fucking sick of me,” she teased on Twitter. And the 25-year-old has kept true to her vow. She kicked off a wave of content by linking up with Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha and Cardi B on “Girls,” which failed to make the desired splash when it dropped. She had more luck alongside Tove Lo, Icona Pop, Elliphant and ALMA on the ladies-first anthem, “Bitches,” and by linking up with Lil Xan on “Moonlight.” Since then, the siren has dropped a trio of solo buzz tracks. She went in on posers and naysayers on her biting “5 In The Morning” and went straight to the dance floor on “Focus” and “No Angel.”

Today (July 25) she announced that she has a new track dropping later this week. It is called “Girls Night Out” and will surface online Friday (July 27). We don’t know much about the release just yet, but it seems safe to assume that it will be another hard-hitting electronic production. I’m holding out hope that it sounds similar to “No Angel,” which has been my favorite track of hers this year. The “Boys” hitmaker has kept busy in between releases as well. She is currently touring with Taylor Swift and Camila Cabello on the “Delicate” diva’s Reputation Stadium Tour. With any luck, she will perform the track on tour in the near future.
