All hail the King Of Pop. Today (August 29) family, friends and fans across the globe are coming together to celebrate Michael Jackson’s birthday. The legend would be turning 60, and there are a multitude of events planned to honor his legacy. His sister, Janet Jackson, kicked off the celebrations with a tribute to his star-studded 1992 video, “Remember The Time.” Directed by Diamond Batiste, her take features cameos from the likes of Kwaylon Rogers and King Bach. In it, the “Made For Now” siren plays a queen who watches on as she is entertained by dancers. The clip premiered on TMZ, and it has been in the works since the 2018 BBMAs. Acclaimed producer Mark Ronson also dropped “Michael Jackson x Mark Ronson: Diamonds are Invincible,” a remix that interpolates some of the icon’s greatest hits.

Clocking in at 5 minutes, the release features elements of tracks including “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough,” “Smooth Criminal,” and “The Way You Make Me Feel.” Ronson talked about the daunting opportunity in a press release. “It was such an amazing, awe-inspiring and insanely intimidating task to put this together, although you’d need hours and hours to fit all of Michael’s classic tunes into one track,” he said. “I wanted this to feel like being on the dancefloor at a sweaty, wild NYC club getting down to as much MJ as possible in five minutes.” The hitmaker also teased an extended edition, which is “coming soon.” That’s not all though. Michael’s children, Paris and Prince Jackson, will accept an award in their father’s memory from The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation in Las Vegas. They will also be on hand for a showing of Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson ONE show.

Other events are scheduled to take place in London, Germany, Japan, Spain, Moscow and elsewhere across the globe. Listen to “Diamonds Are Invincible” and watch Janet’s tribute below!
