Dua Lipa Lights Up The Night Alongside Silk City On The Infectious “Electricity”

Earlier this week Dua Lipa gave fans something to look forward to by announcing plans to reissue her debut album in October. The 23-year-old repackaged the collection to include a handful of songs that didn’t make the original tracklist. That includes a highly anticipated collaboration with K-Pop queens BLACKPINK on “Kiss And Make Up.” She also linked up with Mark Ronson and Diplo (collectively Silk City) for “Electricity,” which will serve as her new single. The latter arrived today (September 6), and it sounds like the Brit has another massive hit on her hands. After riding her Calvin Harris-assisted “One Kiss” to the upper reaches of the charts this summer, she returns to the dance floor once again.

Over the super-producers’ simmering beats, the “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” siren delivers some infatuated lyrics. “Falling into you, baby. Even electricity can’t compare to what I feel when I’m with you,” she coos on the opening lines. She gets even more emphatic as she moves into the infectious chorus. “And even if I could, I would never turn on you,” she belts. “And I would stop the world for you. You know I wanna let you know, I’ll never let this feeling go.” She also heats things up in the accompanying video. In it, the hitmaker generates enough sparks to light up a New York City blackout with the power of her feelings. Joyously dancing around her apartment, she is eventually joined by a crew of fellow revelers. The only people unable to make it are Diplo and Mark, who get stuck in an elevator.

It seems like a safe bet that the trio is about to fly up the charts. “Electricity” has everything it needs to dominate radio waves through the end of summer and into the fall. Check out the official video up top and revisit her last club-ready banger below!
