Nicki Minaj Responds To Cardi B Fight, Claims Her Career Was Built On “Sympathy & Payola”

The Queen has spoken. Nicki Minaj took to Queen Radio to publicly comment about her escalating feud with Cardi B. The rappers have frequently been pitted against one another since the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker claimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. However, things reached a fever pitch when Cardi attempted to start a physical fight during New York Fashion Week. Last Friday (September 7), footage emerged of her rushing at Nicki during an event sponsored by Harper’s Bazaar. She was escorted from the building after attempting to throw a shoe at the other artist. Later she explained her actions in a furious post on Instagram. “I let you talk big shit about me,” she wrote. “But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are fuckin off!!”

Today (September 10), the “Chun-Li” artist publicly commented on the fight for the first time. And she is not backing down. Instead, she hit back at Cardi and claimed to be embarrassed by the situation. “I could not believe how humiliating it all felt — how we made ourselves look,” she said. “I would never discuss anyone’s child. For someone to pin that on me because I’m the bad guy and they know people would believe them.” She went on to hit back at Cardi, claiming that her career was built off of “sympathy and payola.” That’s not all though. “You came into my fucking culture. I never had to fuck a DJ to play my songs,” she added.

Nicki continued to go in, even expressing some concern for Cardi and recommending staging an intervention. “You’re angry and you’re sad, and I really. This is not funny and this is not about attacking. This is about get this woman some fucking help. This woman is at the best stage in her career, and she’s out here throwing bottles and throwing shoes,” she said. The Queen rapper also uncovered a previous interview Cardi gave, where she said “nothing is off limits, including children,” effectively calling her original argument into question. In all, it was not a good day for Cardi B on Queen Radio.

wanted to clarify all the DMs & fake news I am getting regarding my Insta story from last night: 1. Yes that was me next to that @iamcardib @nickiminaj fight, and no I don't know how I ended up there at the same time 2. I NEVER gave a statement to the press who hit whom – it's none of my business. 3. Nicki and Cardi never got as close to each other as they would have even been able to physically hit each other. I am sharing this video (my footage) so you can see the truth, there were no punches between them 4. Deleting this post once the craziness is over and DMs stop . . . #CardivsNicki #CardiB #Harpersbazaar #BazaarIcons #CardiNickiFight #NickiCardiFight #Kulture #Nickifight #cardifight #nickivscardi #nicki_minaj #nickyminaj #cardibvideos #cardibaby #cardib #nickicardi #cardibnickiminajfight
