Tom Walker Interview
We speak to the breakout star about 'Leave A Light On' and his debut LP.

EDIT: This post has been updated with the official video for “Angels.” Just don’t watch it before taking a flight!

Tom Walker caught lightning in a bottle with 2017 single, “Leave A Light On.” The track, which documents a friend’s battle with addiction, reached number one on iTunes in 16 countries and sold a whopping 1.8 million copies around the globe. As such, the UK singer/songwriter’s debut LP is one of music’s most-anticipated projects and it finally has a title and release date. What A Time To Be Alive drops October 19 and features his breakthrough hit as well as previous singles “My Way,” “Blessings” and “Just You And I.”

The album also contains a duet with Zara Larsson called “Now You’re Gone” and the 26-year-old’s new single, “Angels.” Produced by Mike Spencer, the world-weary anthem starts off on a bleak note. “Save praise for a better man, no need for your touching hands,” Tom sings. “There’s nothing to understand, I’m one with the lost and damned.” However, as with “Leave A Light On,” there’s a hopeful twist in the chorus. “There must be angels guiding the way, there must be angels saving our grace,” he concludes. “There must be heaven for people who stray.” Check it out below.
