The nominations for the American Music Awards 2018 were announced earlier this morning (September 12) and a couple of familiar faces lead the pack. Cardi B’s breakout year continues with eight nominations including New Artist Of The Year, Collaboration Of The Year, Favorite Music Video, Favorite Female Artist — Pop/Rock and Favorite Female Artist — Rap/Hip-Hop. If you’re wondering why she is represented in pop and rap categories, anything goes at the AMAs. After all, they are voted by fans unlike The Grammys and BBMAs.

As for Drake, he also nabbed eight nominations including Artist Of The Year, Favorite Music Video, Favorite Album — Pop/Rock, Favorite Album — Rap/Hip-Hop and Favorite Song — Rap/Hip-Hop. Other artists with multiple nominations include Post Malone and Ed Sheeran (six each) as well as Taylor Swift and Camila Cabello (five each). It’s nice to see that Khalid, Bebe Rexha and SZA were all recognized for their achievements, while it’s no surprise that BTS is in the running for Favorite Social Artist. See all the nominations below.
