Love blooms in the newly released video for Meghan Trainor and Jason Mraz’s loved-up collaboration, “More Than Friends.” The duo linked up for the sugary duet back in July, and they’re giving it a belated push with the Darren Doane-directed visual. Out today (September 17), it gets a little meta. In it, a pair of co-workers admit they have romantic feelings after spending a day on set for the video shoot. They commemorate the moment with an adorable choreographed routine before going in for one final embrace as the music fades out. Interspersed between footage of the soon-to-be lovers are some equally cute moments of M-Train and Jason performing the track together. In all, it is a sweet and unexpected release.

With any luck, “More Than Friends” will make an appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 in the coming weeks. It is included on Jason’s sixth LP, Know. Out August 10, it was his first full-length effort since 2014’s Yes!, and it already spawned the mood-boosting “Have It All.” Despite garnering warm reviews upon its release, the lead single only peaked at the number 90 spot on the Hot 100. “More Than Friends” deserves much more. In the meantime, Meghan spent the weekend performing in Chicago. In an Instagram post after exiting the stage, she gave fans a small update about her forthcoming album. “These new songs I’m writing are next level, I can’t wait to show you all.” Prayerfully she has something coming in the near future!
