Alessia Cara returns with 'Growing Pains,' the first taste of her sophomore LP.

EDIT: The post has been updated with the video for “Trust My Lonely.” Check it out below.

Alessia Cara is rolling out a new track called “Trust My Lonely” as the followup to “Growing Pains.” The third cut (but second official single) from her sophomore LP, The Pains Of Growing, sounds like a return to the loner-pop of breakout hit, “Here.” At least from the incredibly brief snippet. “Don’t you know you’re no good for me,” the Canadian hitmaker sings over rhythmic beats. “I gotta trust my lonely.” While “Growing Pains” felt more like a tone-setting introduction to her new era, this sounds like a proper radio hit.

In addition to a snippet, Alessia also shared the cover art which finds her standing in front of a curtain in the middle of a field. She looks suitably disinterested in an oversized suit and tie, staring accusingly at the camera. Expectations are high for the 22-year-old’s second album after the massive success of her debut. Know-It-All peaked at number 9 on the Billboard 200, was certified platinum and produced two top 10 hits. The rising star then landed a third with her feature on Zedd’s “Stay.”
