Is New Music On The Way? Ariana Grande Returns To The Recording Studio

Ariana Grande dropped her new LP, Sweetener, back in August, and she has already returned to the recording studio. The 25-year-old’s team revealed that she was working on new music in the wake of Mac Miller’s death. In a statement released after she opted out of attending the 2018 Emmys, they said she was taking a step back. “She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline.” Yesterday (October 1), she confirmed herself that she was hard at work by uploading a photo from the studio to her Instagram story. “Music is the best medicine,” she wrote in a tweet. It sounds as though the project is giving her an opportunity to channel her feelings creatively as she did with several songs on her last album including lead single “No Tears Left To Cry.” Hopefully it brings her a sense of peace.

Meanwhile, the “Successful” siren is questioning whether she will embark upon some sort of tour in support of her current album. She has been particularly candid about the difficulties of traveling for extended periods of time on social media. “My happiest moments are with y’all and on stage and stuff. i think it’s just the looooooong chunks of time away from home that are scary to me rn,” she wrote in one tweet. In another she proposed the possibility of a “mini” tour. “I cant do what i did last time right now. that i do know,” she explained. “I just love and miss you. everybody telling me i need to take time but i’m so antsy. idk.” She promised to keep fans posted. Although the status of a tour is in question, Ari is having plenty of success on the charts. Her current single “God Is A Woman” broke into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and this week it netted the singer her ninth Top 10 on Billboard’s Radio Songs chart.
